# Wrong-network transfer

## Definition

A wrong-network transfer occurs when crypto is sent using a blockchain network different from the one the recipient, service or intended wallet flow expects.

## What it means in practice

EVM addresses can look identical across chains, which makes network selection especially important even when the destination string is valid.

## How this concept appears in Terenval Wallet

Terenval includes wrong-network protection as an additional safeguard for multi-network use, but users must still verify the network before signing.

**Important:** Recovery after a wrong-network transfer depends on who controls the destination address and whether the receiving system supports that chain; it is not guaranteed.
