# WalletConnect

## Definition

WalletConnect is a protocol ecosystem used to connect compatible wallets with decentralized applications so the wallet can receive requests and return user-approved signatures.

## What it means in practice

A WalletConnect session does not transfer custody of keys to the dApp. The wallet still decides whether to present and sign each request, but malicious requests remain possible.

## How this concept appears in Terenval Wallet

Terenval Wallet supports WalletConnect for connecting to compatible dApps from the wallet.

**Important:** Review the dApp domain, requested network, permissions and transaction details before approving a WalletConnect request.
