# Wallet drainer

## Definition

A wallet drainer is malicious software, a contract interaction or a scam flow designed to obtain signatures, approvals or secrets that enable attackers to transfer a victim's crypto assets.

## What it means in practice

A drainer may not need the seed phrase if it can persuade the user to approve a powerful token allowance or sign a harmful transaction.

## How this concept appears in Terenval Wallet

Terenval users should treat unexpected WalletConnect sessions, approvals and signature requests as security-sensitive actions and verify them before signing.

**Important:** Disconnecting a dApp after a harmful approval may not revoke an on-chain allowance; the permission itself may need separate revocation.
