# USDT

## Definition

USDT is the ticker commonly used for Tether-issued stablecoin tokens that aim to track the value of the U.S. dollar across several blockchain networks.

## What it means in practice

USDT exists in multiple network-specific implementations, so the same ticker does not mean the same contract or transfer path on every chain.

## How this concept appears in Terenval Wallet

When a Terenval user encounters USDT on a supported EVM network, the network and token contract must still match the intended recipient or dApp.

**Important:** Stablecoin price targets and issuer redemption mechanisms do not eliminate contract, issuer or network risk.
