# Slippage

## Definition

Slippage is the difference between an expected trade price and the actual execution price, usually caused by market movement, liquidity depth or trade size.

## What it means in practice

DEX interfaces often use a slippage tolerance that sets how much price movement the user is willing to accept before a swap fails.

## How this concept appears in Terenval Wallet

Terenval can sign a compatible swap transaction, but slippage settings and execution price are determined by the dApp and underlying market.

**Important:** An unusually high slippage tolerance can expose a trade to poor execution or certain forms of MEV exploitation.
