# Seed backup

## Definition

A seed backup is a durable record of wallet recovery words and any additional recovery information needed to reconstruct the intended accounts.

## What it means in practice

A good backup is independent of the phone or computer running the wallet and is stored so loss of one device does not destroy recovery access.

## How this concept appears in Terenval Wallet

Recovery material should be treated as highly sensitive and entered only through the official Terenval Wallet create/import/recovery flow.

**Important:** A backup that is unreadable, incomplete or stored with the same device is not a reliable recovery plan.
