# Non-fungible token

## Definition

A non-fungible token is a blockchain token whose individual token ID represents a distinct item, position, right or record rather than an interchangeable unit.

## What it means in practice

ERC-721 and some ERC-1155 assets are common NFT implementations on Ethereum-style networks.

## How this concept appears in Terenval Wallet

If a compatible dApp requests an NFT transaction through Terenval, the wallet is signing a smart-contract action on the selected network.

**Important:** NFT ownership does not automatically grant copyright, redemption rights or guaranteed market value.
