Definition: A non-custodial wallet is a wallet model in which the user controls the cryptographic recovery/key material rather than delegating key custody to an exchange or wallet provider.

This gives the user direct signing authority but also makes backup and operational security the user's responsibility.

How this concept appears in Terenval Wallet

Terenval Wallet is non-custodial. Its current production security boundary keeps seed/recovery phrase processing on the user's device instead of sending the phrase to Terenval servers.

Important: Self-custody removes one custodian risk but does not remove phishing, device compromise or user-error risk.
