# Blockchain interoperability

## Definition

Blockchain interoperability is the ability of separate blockchain networks or applications to exchange information, assets or messages through defined protocols or bridging systems.

## What it means in practice

Interoperability can rely on bridges, messaging layers, shared verification or application-specific integrations, each with different trust assumptions.

## How this concept appears in Terenval Wallet

Terenval supports multiple networks in one wallet interface, but multi-network support should not be confused with automatic interoperability between those chains.

**Important:** Moving assets or messages between chains usually adds protocol and bridge risk beyond an ordinary same-chain transaction.
