# Ice phishing

## Definition

Ice phishing is a crypto attack that tricks a user into signing an approval or permission that gives an attacker power over tokens without stealing the private key directly.

## What it means in practice

It commonly abuses token allowances, operator approvals or deceptive smart-contract interactions.

## How this concept appears in Terenval Wallet

Terenval users should read approval requests carefully because a valid signature can create dangerous on-chain permissions even while keys remain local.

**Important:** Keeping a seed phrase secret does not protect assets from permissions the user intentionally but mistakenly signs.
