# Full node

## Definition

A full node independently verifies blockchain data against protocol consensus rules rather than trusting another service to declare transactions or blocks valid.

## What it means in practice

Full nodes improve independent verification but require storage, bandwidth and maintenance appropriate to the network.

## How this concept appears in Terenval Wallet

Terenval is a user wallet rather than a promise that every mobile device runs a full node; the term describes network infrastructure separate from the wallet interface.

**Important:** Running a full node improves verification sovereignty but does not protect a user from phishing or signing the wrong destination.
