# Event log

## Definition

An Ethereum event log is structured data emitted by a smart contract during transaction execution and stored in the transaction receipt for applications and indexers.

## What it means in practice

Token Transfer and Approval events are common examples, but logs do not themselves execute additional state changes.

## How this concept appears in Terenval Wallet

Wallet and explorer interfaces can use logs to describe contract activity associated with transactions viewed through Terenval.

**Important:** An event name is descriptive execution data and not independent proof that an interaction was safe.
