# Dusting attack

## Definition

A dusting attack sends tiny amounts of cryptocurrency or tokens to addresses, often to attract attention, trace activity or lure users toward malicious follow-up interactions.

## What it means in practice

The unsolicited balance itself may be harmless, while associated token metadata, links or later social engineering creates the practical risk.

## How this concept appears in Terenval Wallet

If an unexpected small asset appears around a Terenval address, users should avoid interacting with unknown links or contracts merely to 'claim' or remove it.

**Important:** Do not sign transactions from unsolicited token websites without independently verifying the asset and contract.
