# Confirmation time

## Definition

Confirmation time is the elapsed time between transaction submission or broadcast and the point at which the network reaches the confirmation threshold relevant to the user or service.

## What it means in practice

It varies with blockchain design, fee conditions, congestion, block timing and the number of confirmations required.

## How this concept appears in Terenval Wallet

Terenval can show transaction progress, but it cannot guarantee a fixed confirmation time across Bitcoin, Ethereum and supported L2 networks.

**Important:** Treat fee-speed estimates as probabilistic rather than promises.
