# Child Pays for Parent

## Definition

Child Pays for Parent, or CPFP, is a Bitcoin fee-bumping technique where a new child transaction spends an output from a low-fee unconfirmed parent and pays enough fee to make the package attractive to miners.

## What it means in practice

The method depends on having a spendable output from the parent and on miner or mempool package policy.

## How this concept appears in Terenval Wallet

Terenval users should not assume CPFP is available in the interface merely because the Bitcoin protocol can support the concept.

**Important:** Fee-bumping methods can be advanced; verify wallet support and transaction relationships before attempting them.
