# Blind signing

## Definition

Blind signing means approving a cryptographic signature without being able to clearly verify the human-readable meaning and consequences of the data being signed.

## What it means in practice

Blind signing increases risk because a malicious dApp can request permissions or actions that are not obvious from a generic signature prompt.
