# Bitcoin

## Definition

Bitcoin is a decentralized digital monetary network and asset system that uses a public blockchain, proof-of-work consensus and the native asset bitcoin to transfer value without a central transaction operator.

## What it means in practice

Bitcoin transactions spend previously created outputs and create new outputs. Wallets manage keys and addresses that let users authorize spending of eligible outputs.

## How this concept appears in Terenval Wallet

Terenval Wallet supports Bitcoin alongside Ethereum and supported EVM/L2 networks in one mobile interface.

**Important:** Bitcoin is a separate network from Ethereum and EVM chains; verify the destination and selected network before sending BTC.
