# Bitcoin transaction

## Definition

A Bitcoin transaction is a data structure that spends one or more existing transaction outputs and creates new outputs according to Bitcoin's consensus and script rules.

## What it means in practice

Inputs reference earlier UTXOs, outputs define new spend conditions, and signatures normally prove that the spender is authorized to satisfy the relevant script conditions.

## How this concept appears in Terenval Wallet

Terenval Wallet constructs and signs Bitcoin transactions for the user's Bitcoin account and then broadcasts them to the Bitcoin network.

**Important:** Verify the destination, amount and fee before signing because a confirmed Bitcoin transaction is generally not reversible.
