# Bitcoin transaction output

## Definition

A Bitcoin transaction output assigns a specific amount of bitcoin to a locking script that defines the conditions for spending that value later.

## What it means in practice

Once confirmed and not yet spent, an output becomes a UTXO. A typical payment transaction can create both a recipient output and a change output.

## How this concept appears in Terenval Wallet

Terenval constructs recipient and, when needed, change outputs as part of a Bitcoin send flow.

**Important:** The recipient amount and change are different outputs; users should focus on the intended recipient and total fee rather than assume every output is an external payment.
