# Bitcoin miner

## Definition

A Bitcoin miner is a participant or mining system that builds candidate blocks and performs Proof-of-Work hashing in an attempt to produce a valid block.

## What it means in practice

Mining can be performed through specialized hardware and pools, but the protocol role is to propose valid blocks backed by sufficient proof of work.

## How this concept appears in Terenval Wallet

Terenval relies on the public Bitcoin network and its miners for block inclusion; Terenval itself does not act as a Bitcoin miner for user transactions.

**Important:** A wallet's network fee is not a promise that any specific miner will include a transaction immediately.
