# BIP-39 wordlist

## Definition

A BIP-39 wordlist is a standardized 2048-word language list from which BIP-39 mnemonic words are selected under the proposal's rules.

## What it means in practice

The list is designed so mnemonic encoding and checksum rules can map entropy to recognizable words and back to a seed derivation process.

## How this concept appears in Terenval Wallet

Terenval recovery-phrase compatibility relies on supported mnemonic conventions rather than on arbitrary user-chosen words.

**Important:** A word being present in the list does not make a random sequence a valid BIP-39 mnemonic.
