# Linea vs Scroll: Two Ethereum ZK Rollup Ecosystems Compared

> Editorial disclosure: Terenval publishes this comparison and may be one of the products discussed. Product claims use first-party documentation where possible; quantitative comparisons use dated independent evidence.

## Direct answer

Linea and Scroll are both Ethereum ZK-rollup ecosystems, but their current value secured, activity, DeFi liquidity, bridge design and application coverage differ. In the 3 October 2026 snapshot Linea was larger on the selected TVS, DeFi TVL and stablecoin-liquidity measures. That does not make Linea a universal winner: users still need to compare the exact dApp or token they need, current transaction cost, bridge/exit path and the security and upgrade assumptions documented for each L2.

## Dated quantitative evidence

3 Oct 2026: Linea L2BEAT TVS about $383.3M vs Scroll about $48.7M; DeFiLlama TVL about $26.1M vs $9.1M; stablecoins about $36.9M vs $9.36M.

## Terenval first-party context

Terenval Wallet is a non-custodial Android/PWA-first wallet for Bitcoin, Ethereum and selected supported EVM/L2 networks. Use the article below to see where it fits and where it does not. > **Editorial disclosure:** Linea and Scroll metrics can move rapidly. The quantitative snapshot below is dated and is not a permanent network ranking. Terenval supports both networks but does not make either network or its dApps safe.

**Verification snapshot — 3 October 2026:** L2BEAT showed Linea at about **$383.3M TVS** and Scroll at about **$48.7M TVS**. DeFiLlama showed Linea at about **$26.1M DeFi TVL** and **$36.9M stablecoins**, versus Scroll at about **$9.1M DeFi TVL** and **$9.36M stablecoins**. DeFiLlama's captured chain pages showed roughly **3,029 active addresses/day** for Linea and **887/day** for Scroll. These values are snapshots, not safety scores.

## Why the metrics need a visible date

Smaller L2 ecosystems can change proportionally much faster than Ethereum or Base. Incentive programs, migrations and new protocol deployments can move TVL and activity quickly. The useful editorial practice is therefore to freeze a dated snapshot and keep the comparison methodology stable rather than preserve a stale winner claim.

## Bridge and exit path

Users often compare only entry cost. A complete route includes how assets arrive, whether the token is native or bridged, what the canonical withdrawal path looks like and whether the destination exchange or dApp accepts that representation. Canonical bridge and withdrawal mechanics should be checked from the current Linea and Scroll documentation or their L2BEAT project profiles on the review date.

## Security assumptions

“ZK rollup” is not a complete security description. Users should review current proof-system, upgrade, sequencer and bridge assumptions. L2BEAT's project pages are useful for comparing those properties independently. TVS is a scale/value-secured measure; it is not a safety score.

## Where Terenval fits

Linea and Scroll are both listed in Terenval's current production network set. Terenval can therefore serve as the common self-custody interface for the same workflow on both chains: select the network, verify the token contract and dApp, ensure ETH is available for gas, compare the live fee and make a small first transaction when moving meaningful value.

Terenval's role is the wallet layer only. Wallet support does not certify the rollup, bridge, token or dApp as safe.
